We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager with a track record of delivery of all aspects of procurement within manufacturing/engineering / automotive industries. You will be an enthusiastic and capable individual whose internal relationships will be as important as those with your suppliers.

The Business is currently experiencing significant growth due to the increase in demand for our new and existing range of bikes.

Skills Required:

  • Experience in the procurement of raw material for in house manufacture as well as controlling secondary processes at subcontractors
  • Understanding of a complex product range with multiple manufacturing techniques and a global supply chain.
  • Develop and maintain commodity strategies for a range of motorcycles within your team to ensure that Norton is kept up to date on commercial and technical developments, as well as potential suppliers
  • A proficient negotiator with proven abilities in influencing people at all levels within the organisation.
  • Experience in component cost reviews from a total cost perspective as well as experience in bill of materials reviews
  • An understand of manufacturing processes and the cost drivers
  • Good understanding of legal regulations and contract management.
  • Experienced in managing, motivating and leading a team of buyers.

Senior Buyer / Buyer

Norton Motorcycles, one of the worlds must iconic Motorcycle brands is expanding its production capabilities, at its Manufacturing Facility in Castle Donington. We are now looking to recruit several Senior Buyers/ Buyers to be based at our headquarters at Donington Hall. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment for one of the most passionate and exciting names in the Motorcycling industry.  

Working with the existing Purchasing Team you will form part of driving the purchasing function forward to ensure there is a robust and committed supply chain.

The successful person would need to be an experienced Buyer with a track record of delivery within manufacturing/engineering/automotive industries. You should be able to demonstrate examples of cost reduction through both direct negotiation and working strategically with suppliers to find mutually beneficial cost-downs. You will be an enthusiastic and capable individual whose internal relationships will be as important as those with your suppliers.

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Ensuring there are always sufficient components in stock to satisfy the demands of production
  • Optimising stock levels
  • Expediting purchase orders to ensure deliveries are on time and in full
  • Participating in the development of purchasing specifications for material, components or products
  • Evaluate cost data and quotation analysis and cost reduction opportunities
  • Identify supplier risk and develop robust risk mitigation strategies to counter these
  • Developing strong commercial relationship with all suppliers

Essential skill requirements:

Security Guard

Norton Motorcycles, one of the worlds must iconic Motorcycle brands is expanding its’ production capabilities, at its’ Manufacturing Facility in Castle Donington. Our Business is expected to grow significantly over the next 10 years as demand for our existing Quality Motorcycle range increases and our new V4 Superbike is introduced into the market.

We are now looking to recruit an additional Security Officer, predominantly to work  weekends, but also some weekday overlap will be required and will be based at our headquarters at Donington Hall.

 

We are Looking for a motivated individual who can work as part of a team and on their own.  Duties are to include carrying out patrols, security checks, along with intervention skills and to be able to manage any issues that may arise.

Complementing our 24-hour Security, we are looking for someone to work weekends and cover holidays.  Hourly rate £10.00

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety and security of staff and customers within working environment
  • Act as a visual deterrent
  • Liaising with police and other emergency services
  • Report writing
  • Internal/external patrols

Requirements:

  • A full UK driving licence and access to own transport is essential

Graduate Design Engineer

We are now looking to recruit a Graduate Design & Design Engineers to work as part of a growing team of industry professionals.  This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment for one of the most passionate and exciting names in the Motorcycling industry.  

Key responsibilities will include:

 Engineering responsibility for derivative models and following these into production, as well as significant areas on new projects.

Accountability for Projects including overseeing product design and validation from concept through to production

Providing production support, including scheming and detailed component

Engineering, using the latest 3D CAD software (Pro E), homologation and vehicle testing.

Purchase Ledger Clerk

Summary

Due to the recent release of our V4 and 650 model ranges, we are looking for a purchase ledger clerk to be part of a team of five in a rapidly growing business.  Due to the industry and business model, the purchase ledger is significantly larger than the sales ledger and so the business requires an additional member of staff to help maintain the integrity/accuracy of this ledger.
You will work alongside two accounts assistants, a management accountant, with the department managed by the Financial Controller.
The role will be almost exclusively purchase ledger based so background in this area of accounts is essential.  We have a global supply chain, so you will be required to communicate to suppliers all over the world within the role.  This also means dealing with various currencies across the purchase ledger. 
The business has recently had Sage 200 implemented so Sage 200 experience is preferable but not a pre-requisite. 

Role Description

Coding, checking and posting of supplier invoices
Supplier statement reconciliations
Filing invoices and statements
Investigating any disputes/variances between invoice, PO & delivery notes
Maintaining supplier master data
Working through GRNI reports
Overall purchase ledger maintenance

Job Information
Full-time position is 42.5 hours a week.  8.30-5.30 with 30 minutes lunch.
Part-time hours can be flexible depending on candidate (as long as your weekly hours are done)

  • Homologation and vehicle testing to meet the latest European and world wide standards and regulations.

Job Description

Metalwork Fettler/Grinder

A position has opened for an experienced Metalwork Fettler / Grinder to join a manufacturing team. Working in a busy environment, this role involves the grinding and trimming of a variety of laser cut tubes and metalwork ranging between 10mm to 45mm aluminium tube to a high standard including Fettling and de-burring.

Working with one of the most passionate and exciting names in the motorcycling industry here at Donington Hall.

Skills Required:

  • Previous fettling, grinding or deburring experience
  • Experience of working in an industrial environment
  • Working knowledge of the safe operation of metal finishing equipment
  • Ability to work to a consistently high standard whilst meeting deadlines
  • Be able to work as part of a team
  • Using initiative when working alone and unsupervised
