Glen ‘knee slider’ English grits his teeth on the Works Norton 07/09/2010.

It was a painful days racing for Glen English on the Works-Norton 30M at Castle Coombe this weekend. Glen was struggling to walk let alone ride because of some very painful knee injuries he had picked up at Cadwell the week before, where he had found that Harley Davidson XR1200 Trophy bikes don’t handle like ‘featherbed’ Nortons.
In spite having to be lowered onto the bike, he still notched up a couple of very respectable 5th places, but it was obvious to all that he was not his usual self. He found the first race especially frustrating – a red flag after only two laps caused a lengthy wait on the grid – not nice if you can’t straighten your legs!
The Bonhams British Historic GP Championship now moves to its final round at the picturesque Oulton Park, on 8th-10th October scene of a couple of epic wins for the team earlier in the season. The five week gap should allow Glen to fully recover so that the team should end the season on a high note.
