Job Brief:

We have a truly amazing opportunity for a genuinely capable Operations Manager/Director. It’s a full on role to work with the existing senior team in running the complete factory operations as they grow strongly off the back of the successful launch of the outstanding V4SS and Atlas Range of motorcycles. The right person will be a down to earth grounded individual who can without question demonstrate their ability to deliver and not simply talk about it.. In a perfect world, you will have had exposure to a similar sized business and experienced the processes and structures required to scale all departments to achieve the volumes our order book demands. Finally, we’d love you to already have a motorcycle in your garage. If not, as a minimum you’ll need a strong passion for automotive, engineering and manufacturing to put up with us all!

 

You:

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Engineering responsibility for derivative models and following these into production, as well as significant areas on new projects.

Logistics Support Driver

Norton Motorcycles (UK) Limited is a dynamic, inspirational brand, at the forefront of British design and rapidly growing. Due to the growth of the business, we need a hardworking and friendly part-time driver and store operative to join our team.

 

Your Role

Logistics support both in stores along with the delivery and collection of goods.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Loading, unloading, preparing, cleaning and operating a vehicle for delivery duties
  • Ensuring timely delivery and collection of goods to pre-determined customers/from suppliers on specific routes, reviewing load prior to delivery/collection to ensure an exceptional customer/supplier service is met at all times

You will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Pre-determining the day’s journey including best route and allowing for any timed drops or other guidelines
  • Load cargo securely using relevant and necessary safety equipment
  • Unload/load goods at the destination safely and efficiently
  • Observe and adhere to all traffic regulations (drivers are personally responsible for any traffic citations)
  • Be aware of the legal load capacity of the vehicle to be driven
  • Keep Company vehicle clean and ensure it is well-maintained, has fuel, oil and is ready to drive
  • Communicates with customers by phone to update them of time of deliveries if there have been issues or changes to their estimated time of arrival
  • Follows pre-planned route accurately without deviation from set course
  • Maintains communication with management to be informed of any change of delivery, route or schedule
  • Work in the logistics department when driving duties are not required.

  • Full UK clean drivers licence with no disqualifications within the last 3 years

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Engineering responsibility for derivative models and following these into production, as well as significant areas on new projects.

  • Engineering, using the latest 3D CAD software (Pro E), homologation and vehicle testing.

 

The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Pro Engineer / CREO experience
  • Knowledge of surfacing functionality to create complex parts

Assistant Motorcycle Service Technician

Norton Motorcycles, one of the worlds must iconic Motorcycle brands is expanding its production capabilities, at its Manufacturing Facility in Castle Donington. Norton Motorcycles (UK) Ltd is looking for an enthusiastic and eager Junior Technician to join our busy and growing service, workshop and showroom team.

You might be fresh from college looking for some hands-on experience or wishing to change direction from another discipline where you have excellent mechanical knowhow.

You will be working on both the 961 Commando and Dominator, and in time you could progress on to the state-of-the-art brand new V4SS and RR.

 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Perform basic service and repair work (oil changes, spark plugs, air filters, tyres, brake pads etc).
  • Deliver pre delivery inspection on our range of motorcycles to an excellent standard.
  • Discuss any work requiring specialist skills with the Senior Technician.
  • Accurately record work performed on job cards to be fed in to our dealer management system.
  • Valet PDI bikes and customers bikes in for service.
  • Have clear communication skills.
  • Work tidily and safely, in a professional manner.
  • Take guidance and learn from the Senior Technician, and other key people.

 

About you:

  • You will be reliable, dependable and trustworthy, and be able to integrate and contribute to the team seamlessly.
  • You may be fresh out of education or wishing to transfer your skills from another mechanical based discipline.
  • While we are not necessarily looking for a ‘time served’ motorcycle technician, we do need someone with sound mechanical knowledge and strong ability in the use of hand tools.
  • A full UK A (Motorcycle) licence would be an advantage, but not mandatory as the senior technician will take the lead on test rides.

Engine Build

Must have good knowledge of 4 stroke engines and be practically minded along with being able to understand instructions, working from drawings and assembly manuals.  Have an understanding of measuring equipment such as verniers and bore micrometers.

Expeditor

Purchase Ledger Clerk

Norton Motorcycles is a rapidly expanding dynamic business that is looking for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our accounts department. Our offices are located in the fabulous surroundings of Donington Hall in Castle Donington. (10 minutes from J24 of the M1 & East Midlands Airport).

You will work alongside another full-time account’s assistant underneath the assistant accountant who reports into the Financial Controller.

The role will be predominantly purchase ledger based so a background in this area of accounts is preferable. Due to the industry and business model, the purchase ledger is significantly larger than the sales ledger and so the business requires an additional member of staff to help maintain the integrity/accuracy of this ledger.

The supply chain is global so you will be required to communicate to suppliers all over the world within the role. This also means dealing with various currencies across the purchase ledger.

The business has recently had Sage 200 implemented so Sage 200 experience is preferable but not a pre-requisite.

Working with the existing team of buyers you will form part of driving the purchasing function of this UK based global brand to ensure a robust and committed supply chain. We believe that management and development of external suppliers is paramount.

The successful person would need to be an experienced Buyer with a track record of delivery within manufacturing/engineering/automotive industries. You must be able to demonstrate a track record of cost reduction through both direct negotiation and working strategically with suppliers to find mutually beneficial cost-downs. You will be an enthusiastic and capable individual whose internal relationships will be as important as those with your suppliers.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensuring there are always sufficient components in stock to satisfy the demands of production
  • Optimising stock levels
  • Developing the practice of expediting purchase orders to ensure delivery promises are achieved
  • Coordinating with all other departments for smooth functioning and prioritising of purchasing departmental activity
  • Participating in the development of purchasing specifications for material, components or products
  • Monitoring the financial relationship with key suppliers
